I have had a few wonder why custom photography costs more than the fly-in and take home type studios like Wal-Mart and Sears. The answer is simple…. the time it takes to edit! (Technically it’s also the planning, prepping, personalizing, downloading, emailing, uploading, culling, editing, designing, and self-education… but 75% of all that is the editing!)
So I’ve decided to start sharing some before & afters occasionally here on my blog. I will post a SOOC (straight out of camera) and an AFTER, so you can see some of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into an image. Enjoy!

Not only for the “why to choose custom photography” but for the photographers out there like me that are trying to learn about how to create our own editing style and workflow. If you don’t mind sharing, do you create your own actions/presets or have any specific ones that you absolutely adore?
