This sweet Momma of this family was one of my daughter’s 2nd Grade teachers this year.  I really do feel that teachers give more than they get, and they wear their heart and soul on their sleeve… so one small thing I can do, is to give back to them to show my thanks for all they do, by capturing their love ones and freeze frame time.

In Mom’s words:
Please tell me a bit about your family/child…. “My family consists of my husband, Jered, my son, Tyler (age 9), and my daughter, Jenna Kate (age 6 at the time the photos were taken).”   What was your favorite part about your session?….  “I loved how laid back the session was just hanging out, laughing together, and visiting.”  What advice would you give to other families?…. “Have fun and relax!”

A HUGE thank you to all teachers out there… I hope you’re able to kick your feet up over the summer!

I hear all the time… “Man, your camera takes good pics”, “What camera do you use”, or “I need a camera like that, so I can take good pics too”, etc…

I can’t stress enough that a camera doesn’t make the photographer… the photographer makes the photographer.  Just like a pan doesn’t make a good chef, the chef makes the chef.  We both have a personalized form of art that is made by the person and not the equipment.  So my answer to above questions is to just rock what you’ve got.  🙂

The below pic is of my friend Jess from Follow Her Arrow (I’m using her as an example because I know she won’t mind, LOL)…  but the left is Straight Out Of Camera (SOOC) before any editing…. just a plain ole regular pic.  But the right was after I played with it in photoshop with my “secret recipe”, LOL.  It’s actually a simple edit… (I mean come on, she’s a cutie already!)…. but you can see how the color is popped, a few distracting details removed, highlights brought back to normal levels and slightly cropped in.

As most of you know, I’m a total Disney Dork, and when anything comes within driving distance, you know I’ll be there!  So of course I was over the moon excited when Disney On Ice came to Cedar Park… and on Mother’s Day weekend, which I blocked from work to spend with my lil family.  This weekend was fabulous and the show was amazing!  Defiantly a must see if it’s in your area!

I live in Temple, Texas and over the past couple of years the Temple/Belton area has been booming with new businesses.  It’s so fun to see the area I grew up in grow!  My whole 36 years of life, I’ve lived just off W. 2305 (except for college)… and I’ve seen it go from a country 2 lane road surrounded by just fields and outside of the city limits… to what it is today… a booming 5 lane road full of stop lights, parks, walking trails, shops, and lots of new restaurants!

Today I’m a wife, mom, sister, aunt, friend, business owner (and the many job positions that entails), softball game/practice chauffeur, recently-turned Crossfit junkie, and I still try to squeeze in a tad bit of a social life……  I, like many of you I’m sure, rarely have time to cook dinner or even make it to the grocery store to cook that dinner!  I’m very envious of larger cities that can now partake in the Amazon Prime grocery delivery… and I’m also VERY envious of friends of mine that have local grocery stores that they can place their orders online and then pick up at scheduled times in a drive thru.  It sounds AMAZING! And let’s face it… in today’s world, we all need a personal assistant of some sort at some time or another!

Well recently I stumbled upon Waiter With Wheels.  Basically you order your food from a restaurant in Temple/Belton, and they will pick it up for you and deliver to your door!  Well last Friday, I was seriously craving sushi from Nami’s (yea, yea, I know… it’s called Nami, but we all call it Nami’s!), but didn’t want to break my working groove to go and pick up… so I called Nami’s and they’re actually teamed up with Waiter With Wheels, so I gave it a shot!

AND….. Waiter With Wheels was FABULOUS!  They delivered faster than what was quoted online, and the lady that delivered was super nice!  Can’t get any better than right?!?!  (see our cell phone selfie below!)

I highly recommend them to anyone like me that doesn’t have time, can’t leave the house or office, or whomever just doesn’t feel like cooking!

Now if we could just sweet talk HEB into doing a drive thru service… then I’d be in heaven!!!
