Last month I took a quick trip to Raleigh, NC to visit with my sweet friend Becky from Rebecca Keller Photography.  It was a very much needed and very fun getaway.  We met 2 years ago at a workshop in Austin, along with our amigo Kerri from Images by Kerri, and they were both also amongst the amazing ladies that I went to NYC with last year.  The three of us have become thick as thieves and chat daily.  I really do owe my sanity to these two ladies and love them dearly!

While in Raleigh… I enjoyed some AMAZING food…. crepes, real coffee house coffee, honey chicken ‘n waffles, and NC BBQ (which of course my hubs completely grilled me on the details of once I was home since he does BBQ cook offs!)…. the food was amazing and my mouth still waters thinking back on it!  The best part about traveling to visit a photog friend was shooting all day and not having the need to be entertained/ing when we were tired.  After shooting several sessions we vegged out on the sofa chatting, watching tv, and editing our pics together…. I know, I know… this my sound like a bore to most people, but was totally fun for us.  LOL!

Before her boys left to have their own mini-vacay with the grandparents… we squeezed in a family session.  Becky had been craving a family pic on the famous Boylan Bridge downtown and in only about 10-15 minutes we were able to tackle a whole session.  I loved finally meeting her boys after all these years, even if only for a few short hours.

Now off to plan a trip to Canada to see Kerri next!  🙂

The Lovelace Family is such a sweet family that you can’t help but to want to be a part of it.  With grand-kiddos off at college, the next big family pic won’t be until probably weddings… so we had to capture the family as it is now.  We went out to their grandparent’s land…. it’s absolutely some of the prettiest land in Bell Co… the pics below don’t fully show it off, but it’s full of HUGE gorgeous trees, a river, and fabulous wide open spaces…. and I’m sure this family has enjoyed making many memories over the years there!

This is one rockstar Grandma…. she loves her grand babies like crazy and will do anything for them…. so why not capture that in a session!  We celebrated family and Mr. Noah’s 1st b-day…. and fyi, he didn’t like his birthday cake being taken away at the end, LOL!  Oh the personals I was able to capture in just a short time, heehee!

A few weeks ago, I had the best treat to get to photograph my daughter’s teacher.  It was fun planning the session and Natalie begged and begged to come along, but of course I’m the “mean mommy” that wouldn’t let her, as I need focus.  I’ve heard Natalie talk about her teacher’s cute daughters several times (I think she wants to keep them for herself, lol)… and she’s right… they are super cute and full of personality.  Mom brought along her Great Grandmother’s tea set and it made for the cutest pictures ever!  I love when people bring along things that are personal to themselves… makes the images so much more special!  See one of my faves HERE.

Gorgeous color and shy smiles…. that’s what this session was full of.  I’ve known this amazing family forever and I’ve loved shooting them for several years now.  When shooting families year after year, it gets tricky on where to have the session that we haven’t been to before.  So this time we went out to their church in the Grove and then ended in the Old Towne.  Missy is definitely camera shy… but it’s also a game with her.  She kept me on my toes and had me dancing, singing, and doing monkey noises… but it paid off with those cute smiles of hers!  Her older brother is an ole pro and full of them too… He’s just one giant smile.

See one from their session last year HERE.
